Human Behaviour
Directed by Michel Gondry.
Bjork's video collaboration with Michel Gondry kicked off in 1993 with this imaginative story told to Human Behaviour. It's a fairy tale with bears and woods and hunters. Or is it?

Venus as a Boy
Directed by Sophie Muller .
Bjork as Delia/Nigella showing us how to fry eggs. All very nice and Ms B. looks great, but probably not a classic of the genre.

Play Dead
Directed by Danny Cannon, from the film Young Americans.
A few shots of Bjork singing along interspersed with clips from the film. It's such a great song you don't really notice the video's a bit bland by Bjork's standards!

Big Time Sensuality
Directed by Stephane Sednaoui.
How many performers could you stick on the back of a lorry, point a camera at them and let them get on with it for 3 or 4 minutes. This video works by force of Bjork's presence, personality and sense of fun that comes across nicely.

Violently Happy
Directed by Jean Baptiste Mondino.
Hmmm. my least favourite of all the Bjork videos. It was shot in Los Angeles in 1994, just after the earthquake. Described by salon.com as 'what most people mean when they talk about how bad videos can be, as cold and pretentious and humorless as the worst fashion photography'. I'm afraid I have to agree and I note J-BM hasn't been let near another Bjork video since.

Army of Me
Directed by Michel Gondry.
Back to Michel Gondy for another convoluted yarn with gorilla dentists and an exploding art gallery. The song was the first single from 'Post' and also featured in the 'Tank Girl' movie. The gallery bombing sequence was cut in some countires.

Isobel
Directed by Michel Gondry.
Another Michel Gondry dreamscape - this time a black & white fantasy about.... well, I'm not quite sure what it's about - but it's intriguing enough to bear repeat viewings whilst you try and work it out. Or you can read what Michel thinks
- and he should know - at the Director File web-site.

It's Oh So Quiet
Directed by Spike Jonze. The now classic all-American song-and-dance video from Spike Jonze. Apparently based on Jacques Demy's 1964 film Parapluies de Cherbourg.
Even people who don't like Bjork like this one!

Alarm Call
Directed by Alexander McQueen.
To be seen on the Volumen 2 collection.
Bjork told MTV News that she felt that the music video industry needed a "spank on the bum," and that radical British fashion designer Alexander McQueen was the man to do it with the clip for her.

All Is Full Of Love
Directed by Chris Cunningham.
'"When I first heard the track I wrote down the words; 'sexual,' 'milk,' 'white porcelain,' 'surgery,'" recalls Chris. His immediate association with sex was vindicated when Björk arrived at his London office with a book of Chinese Kama Sutra prints as her only guiding reference.' (Dazed and Confused #55, June 1999).
